Flock to the Zoo on May 9th for Self-guided Bird Activities
World Migratory Bird Day is celebrated annually at the Alaska Zoo with our longtime partner U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. The Alaska Zoo’s 30-acre facility is a naturally wooded boreal forest with the South Fork of Little Campbell Creek running through the back of the zoo. Grab your binoculars or spotting scopes and come to the zoo on Saturday, May 9th, to brush up on your birding skills. We are seeing migratory species passing through the zoo’s grounds now, so you never know which species you will encounter.
We will have the following self-guided amenities for guests:
Birding signs with QR codes which visitors can scan with phone cameras to learn about birds and birding.
Coloring sheets available at the admissions entrance.
