We are very excited to announce the sponsorship of weekly Zoo Community Storytime by ConocoPhillips Alaska! This program is now FREE for zoo members and non-members alike weekly on Wednesdays in our Zoo Gateway Hall located outside of the entrance. The program is held from 10:30am-11am. During summer months, we have a Little Explorers Cutest Animals Tour which happens Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 11am-12pm. The Wednesday tour starts after Storytime and ends in front of the Kape Espresso Tayo Coffee Shop by the alpacas. You may pay for the tour online in advance or at the gate before the tour. Zoo members have 50% off of the tour. We are WILD about encouraging kids to read!

Animal books read by a zoo educator.
Weekly on Wednesdays all year long. No registration, just join us!

Kids must be accompanied by an adult (parent, grandparent, family member, guardian). Ratio is 1 adult to 5 kids.
Best suited for ages 7 and under but all ages of emerging readers welcome!

We encourage you to walk the trails after the program or take a Little Explorers Cutest Animals Tour during summer months! See if you can spot any of the animal species featured in the books of the day. Those who choose to enter the zoo will pay regular rates or use their memberships as usual. The tour is an additional fee, check our tour page.
If you do visit the zoo after Storytime, be sure to stop by the Gift Shop as well as our Coffee Shop managed by Kape Espresso Tayo! The space is remodeled and they are offering a full espresso bar, cold drinks and freshly baked Filipino pastries. Yummmm!
