The Alaska Zoo is proud to be a partnering location for the city-wide KidsDay event again this year, held on Saturday, April 20th, 2019 from 10am to 5pm! This event at the zoo is part of the larger city-wide KidsDay coordinated by Anchorage's Promise and sponsored by Alaska USA. There will be festivities for kids happening all over Anchorage, including right here at the Alaska Zoo and also at the Dena'ina Center downtown. Click here to learn more about this city-wide event for kids!

ADMISSION INFORMATION: At the Alaska Zoo, we will be hosting FREE ENTRY for all kids (ages 17 and under) for this day only! Please be sure your group is in correct ratio, we require 1 adult for every 5 kids ages 12 and younger for zoo entry, no exceptions! Adults will receive $1 off admission for the day for riding the shuttle buses to and from the event (shuttle parking at South High School parking lot, see information below).

NOTE: We won't be selling zoo memberships at the entrance on this day in order to keep lines moving, but you can buy or renew your membership anytime online! Click here to buy or renew memberships online.

SHUTTLES: Shuttle buses will be running continuously between the zoo and South High School parking lot. We ask visitors to take advantage of this as rides will be quick and easy, with the shuttles looping every 15 minutes for the duration of the event. Adults will receive $1 off their entry just by riding the shuttles to and from KidsDay!

ZOO ACTIVITIES: Critter Chats with zookeepers and zoo educators, enrichment for zoo animals at scheduled times, face painting, petting zoo open, temporary tattoo station, free hot chocolate, a coloring station, cotton candy for sale and a bean bag toss.
