Preparations are underway at the zoo for our annual Feast for the Beasts 2018 fundraiser and banquet! The fundraiser and banquet will take place this Thursday, June 14th, at 6 p.m. Guests will enjoy special animal encounters from the Alaska Zoo educators and zookeepers, along with special zoo auction items that are not available at any other time of the year, or any other place (how about a dinner with our male polar bear, Lyutyik?).
We are also thrilled to have Dr. Karyn Rode of the USGS Alaska Science Center as part of the evening’s program. She is a research wildlife biologist who has traveled the world, working with primates, elephants, bears and more.
Alaska Zoo Executive Director Patrick Lampi has this to say about this annual gala affair, "Zoo staff, volunteers and our Board of Directors all look forward to Feast each year. We roll out the red carpet for our guests, giving them an evening at the zoo to remember during this after-hours event. We make memories each year and look forward to another great event this year".
Feast for the Beasts is our biggest fundraising event of the year and we are so thankful for the continued community support the Alaska Zoo receives. Tickets are going fast so if you’d like to enjoy Alaska animal encounters, a live and silent auction, live music and a gourmet dinner catered by The Bridge, purchase tickets in advance here: https://bit.ly/2kXcclX.
The best part? All event proceeds go to the Alaska’s Zoo’s General Fund, directly funding the care of zoo animals and continuing zoo operations. There’s no better way to show zoo love and we hope to see you there!
