Hands-On Animal Detectives & Critter Tales Programs

"Hands-On Animal Detectives" was formerly known as "Critter Class"
Description:  Hands-on, tactile programs that allow kids to touch and feel feathers, fur, antlers, and more from our Critter Collection.  Critter Tales programs include storytelling.  Good for grades 2 and under.

  • Hands-On Animal Detectives and Critter Tales programsmay be held either on or off zoo grounds.
  • On-grounds presentations are approximately 30 minutes in length, followed by time for the group to self-tour the remainder of the zoo.
  • Both programs vary in length when done off-grounds, lasting up to 45 minutes.
  • Group size is limited to 30 participants per instructor.  Larger groups may be required to schedule separately.
Session Type: Fees:
On Zoo Grounds (30 mins) $7.00/child & $9.00/adult (includes zoo admission). 

 

 Get 1 child free for every 10 kids you bring to the zoo!  (Between August 19, 2009 & April 30, 2010 only)
  Fees are paid at Admissions on the day of program.
   
Outreach $50.00/presentation in Anchorage area.
  $80.00/presentation outside of the Anchorage area.
  Anchorage area:  Anch., Eagle River, Girdwood, Chugiak.
  Outside:  All other areas.
  Travel to rural areas will require different pricing.
  Fees are paid to presenter at the time of the program.
